Press Release

AN IMPORTANT PARLIAMENTARY MILE-STONE FOR GOZO AFFAIRS

Published on May 5, 2021

The Gozo NGOs Association congratulates the Hon Dr Justyne Caruana for her selection as Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for Gozo Affairs.

The Association also congratulates the other members of the said committee: the Honorable Ministers Clint Camilleri and Anton Refalo as well as the Honorable MPs Dr Chris Said and Dr Kevin Cutajar.

The Association is certain that the collective five members sitting on the Committee will will do all their best to ensure an always better future for Gozo and its residents.

Now that the Parliamentary Committee has commenced with its work, the Gozo NGOs Association is looking forward to receive an invitation to Parliamentary Committee’s next meeting in order to be able to present a holistic view of the highly active Gozitan voluntary and non-governmental organisations sector.

Through the tireless, and largely unremunerated, personal effort put in by the hundreds of volunteers active in this sector, the Gozo NGO/VO sector has in the past contributed a lot where it comes to Gozo’ economic, social, cultural and philanthropically development. Amongst others the yearlong programme of cultural and other activities, and also because of great assistance provided by the state, has turned Gozo in a truly yearlong destination.
