Association’s primary aims is to have at its disposal the required tools through it will be able to: connect with its more than its 100 members; connect members with each other and also to help its members connect with the outside world (other stakeholders).
When and if requested the Association is always ready, among others, serve as a coordinating entity so eliminating conflicts of interest; duplication of efforts and waste of human and material resources and as such enable their utilisation and use used in the most efficient and effective way.
The Association strives to provide a continuous channel of communication so facilitating discussions between its diverse members themselves as well as other non-member VOs/NGOs and other bodies,

SUPPORT
Another aim of the Association is to support its member organisation so the latter can better attain their objectives.
This support is provided through different means including:
- The provision of tools such as social media platforms and links to the printed media as well as the broadcast media through which its members’ activities can be promoted;
- Collating information and maintaining a database about services available in Gozo;
- Acquiring and sharing of resources among members;
- Getting to know the needs of NGOs, and of individuals working in the voluntary sector, so that it can better provide for these needs;
- Proffer advice and provide training/learning possibilities to the volunteers working within the voluntary sector in Gozo.

The Association is aware that financial resources are usually a VO’s main obstacle in order to carry out, sometimes even day to day administration, before even venturing to implement its activities let alone explore new frontiers. As an Association, we strive to help:
- In the search for the right funding opportunities;
- To develop ideas for possible projects while providing, suggestions, references, and contacts to project writing agencies such as European Support Agency and others;
- In thee search for partners when a third party, is required or a project consortium needs to be set up;
- To promote the project through our social media channels, our website and/or through our mailing list.

In NGO Formation setting up and registration processes
The Association believes in the need to have a strong third sector consequently provides assistance in NGO/VO formation and setting up process. Once constituted, the newly set-up NGO/VO is guided and assisted to deal with the labyrinthine registration and enrolment processes that need be carried out with the Office of the Registrar of Beneficial Owners and the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (OCVO). Enrolment with the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (OCVO) and registration with the Office of the Registrar of Beneficial Owners are legal requirements for an NGO/VO to operate in Malta. Contacting us will help us facilitate the said enrolment and registration process. Below we are outlining the main points you need to note to initiate the process. However, please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions. Before you start the online application to enrol your organisation as a voluntary organisation with the Commissioner for VO, you need to register the organisation with Office of Beneficial Owners. In June 2018, the EU passed a law whereas all NGOs had to register themselves in the national Registry of Beneficial Owners. Registering is free of charge. Kindly follow the instructions regarding what needs to be done from your side as per hereunder:
- Fill in the the Association’s Membership Application Form found here.
- Prepare a signed and dated statute of the organisation. Here you can find a sample statute for an association. Sample Doc1, Sample Doc2.
- Send the filled-in document, together with the statute of the organisation to the following address:
Malta Business Registry, AM Business Centre, Triq il-Labour, Żejtun, ZTN 2401.
The Malta Business Registry can be contacted on +356 2258 2300 or by email on [email protected].
- Once you submit the application, ask for a certified copy of the application since you require it as part of the process to register with the Commissioner for VOs.
To register with the Office of the Commissioner for VOs, log in to https://cvoenrolment.gov.mt/ to start the online application.
Make sure that you prepare the following documentation:
- Statute. The Statute must be signed by all committee members and must be dated. Names of signatories should include: Names, Surnames, ID Number, and Designation.
- Resolution Letter. The Resolution letter must be signed by all committee members and must be dated. The document should include the Names, Surnames, ID Number, and Designation of each Committee Member.
- Organisational Chart
- Administration Report (Signed by two Committee Members)
- Financial Accounts (Signed by two Committee Members)
- The certified Copy of the Registry of Beneficial Owners application
- Copy of the police good conduct of each committee member
- Signature/s
- If the organisation has a commercial bar, please upload a countersigned copy.
When you start filling in the online application, keep record of the password and reference number. Finally, when reaching the end, you will be required to pay an administration fee of €40 online.

The Association believes in the need of active citizenship and so strives to bring to the attention of its members information about volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering at least once in lifetime is an opportunity not to be missed. Anyone can volunteer in everyday life in the community, but the Association aims to offer the chance to young adults to get more involved by participating in the youth voluntary scheme available locally. REPRESENT
The Gozo NGOs Association seeks to play an active role in influencing public policies, by having an official role in representing our members in national committees and engaging in public discussions at local, national and international level.
The Association has a representative role within the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD) which includes, among its structures, the Gozo Regional Committee (GRC). The Association is also a founding member of the Gozo Action Group Foundation (GAGF) which administers and manages EU funding programmes under the Leader Programme. The Gozo Regional Committee
The Gozo Regional Committee brings together regional constituted bodies and it aims to promote new ventures for Gozo for it to be able to boost its social, economic and ecological sustainability. Furthermore, through discussions and proposals, the Committee addresses the constraints brought about by the double insularity of Gozo.
